I hired them to remodel a 50's style bathroom in my family home and they went the extra mile. Not only did they replace the toilet and put in a shower surround, they redid my floor in Pergot and retiled the counter for almost nothing! I have recommended them to all my friends and will have noone else but them do any work for me!
These are really nice guys, they are a family working together, and the pictures on their website look great. But the integrity of their work is not how it is represented online.
I have had Bluecore remodel a bathroom for me and do some roof repair recently and I LOVE these guys! They were prompt and did meticulous work, and they're SO helpful and friendly! My roof was leaking because of ice buildup this winter, and regardless of the fact that I was terrified that they'd slide off the roof (it's pretty steep), they climbed up anyway, cleaned up the ice dam and snow and stopped the leak!
Framing is another issue. Our new contractor has to fix the framing that they left undone but still charged us full price for, framing that is not plumb, specifically a pony wall that is noticeably and painfully not vertical either.
BlueCore and their entire crew is fantastic! Everyone is always so professional, efficient, hard working and they maintain their ethics on all of their projects. They go above and beyond and will even work through the holidays in order to ensure your project is done with the highest quality and most importantly, on time! They always do an unbelievable job! Their construction knowledge and attention to detail shows in the quality of their work.
The trusses they laid are not straight, but angled.
We realize that there is no perfect house, but the mismanagement of this project leaves me unwilling to recommend them. We are sorry we were ever introduced to this business.
Blue Core tried to make "a feature" out of a mistake of the concrete wall having accidentally not been poured completely, without understanding how this would affect the waterflow off of our roof and without consulting us. We just happened to catch the problem and tell them that the concrete wall needed to be finished as designed.
We are having to spend at least 5,000 to fix their botched job and we'll still end up with poor workmanship underneath the siding that the new contractor will have to fix to make our house appear plumb and vertical. They won't return our 2,500 "good faith" deposit, and they paid themselves to finish the framing job, almost 30,000 (including materials and trusses) which they didn't finish and which has to be fixed (we didn't find this out until after we had settled up with them.) There are so many other examples I could give of how these guys have no idea what they are doing and they will still take your money and run (they literally quit our job and walked off, which was, in hindsight, quite fortunate).
We had to argue with them about waterproofing the concrete, a requirement in the city of Whitefish (our home is on the outskirts of Whitefish) and is also required under certain conditions in Kalispell city limits. It appears that some contractors believe that if your house is not in city limits, then it is not necessary to follow requirements and best practices of the city. This compliance with de-regulation is unfortunate.
We hired them over the summer of 2016 to build our 1800 square foot home. We now have a concrete foundation that is not plumb and is in fact leaning out in one section. We were told by our neighbor who had been watching our property for us that he may have seen them use a come-along to pull the concrete wall vertical. Sure enough, we checked a security camera and found they were indeed using one. We are told that the wall should be stable despite that it is clearly not vertical, but we wished they would have been upfront with us about this and given us options as to how to fix it. We are told that there were options available to us. Likely these would have cost money to fix though, and I'm not sure Blue Core nor the subcontractor they hired would have wanted to eat the cost.
After doing some research we discovered that they were sued back in 2007-2008 under the name of John Chvilicek (the owner). They shut down that business, only to open up this one.
