During the massage, the therapist spent 80% of the treatment time on my back, when I had explicitly asked for neck and face work. I was turned face-up for only the last ten minutes of the treatment, and my neck and face received only the briefest attention. This male massage therapist did not listen to my requests, though I communicated them very clearly. This was a disappointingly formulaic massage.
I had a brow wax and massage at Amore, and found the experience disappointing, all around. On entering the salon, I was greeted by nobody, and there was no one at the front desk to alert those with whom I had appointments. The waiting area was noisy and chaotic.
I waited an entire hour between my brow and massage appointments-- An hour! At no point did any staff member check in with me to explain the delay, give me a heads-up as to when I could expect my massage therapist, or ask if waiting was going to be a problem.
The esthetician who performed my brow wax played a local country music radio station, rather than any sort of relaxing spa music. (Um, I'm paying for this experience: Silence would have been preferable to country radio.)
Once the massage was over, the therapist hustled me to schedule another appointment with him. No, thank you. I won't be going back to Amore.
