As I grew up in a main lined pentecostal type church, transitioning to services at Faith Covenant was certainly an experience, but one I have loved. The more traditional liturgy was certainly different from my previous experience, however, I love how there is actual thought on why things are done, and subsequently a reason for everything in the service. I find the teaching to be a breath of fresh air... in a church world that is so focused on how to entertain and how to be "relevant" it is refreshing to hear the Bible systematically preached... going through books at a time as opposed to whatever topic the pastor decides he would like to preach on (after all if the Bible really is the word of God wouldn't all of it be relevant to us?). Beyond this it is preached in a way where the same point isn't being made in 10 different ways, but rather an expectation that you might actually be listening and be able to comprehend what is being said. I appreciate the attention to detail... the attention to reverence for Christ, and the emphasis on God and his sovereignty, not man and man's whims. It is not the perfect church as it is merely filled with sinners, however it is a community filled with grace for one another, accountability to each other, and a church that seeks to serve, both those in its congregation as well as those in the community, whether they would call themselves Christians or not.

Solid reformed teaching. Mix of hymns and modern music. Warm people.

The Sunday morning services are quite Christ-honoring. The mixture of music, Scripture reading, confession, prayer, preaching, and communion are done in a reverent and meaningful way. The major negative that I experienced was that the church is very liberal on divorce and remarriage, which is sadly the case way too often in modern churches. Besides that major deficiency, the church seems to have solid doctrine in many areas.

The teaching is expository in style. The music is a mix of Hymns and praise songs. The age range is very diverse... my guess would be 20% over 60, 25% 40-60, 25% 18-40, and 30% 18 and under. The diversity of age provides great balance to the church allowing for the wisdom of those who have lived long lives of faith to be shared with those who are young, and the younger generations and growing families provide a youthful energy that can be lacking in some reformed churches.
