Took my car here last summer for a clunk in the suspension. I choose H and A after hearing great things, just to be disappointed. To start I took my car in told them the problem and while describing the problem the guy that helped me seem to not care at all about what I was saying. Didn't note any of the symptoms I told him. Then after not hearing from them for at least 3 hours I got a call and voice mail saying it was finished. So I headed down to the shop, upon arrival I was given something like a 200 dollar bill for a wheel bearing. I was a bit upset as I had never even gotten a call asking if they should repair it, as i have with every other shop ive ever been to. And im not even a mechanic and I could have told you it wasnt a wheel bearing. But I just headed on hoping I wouldn't have to deal with it any more. Literally as soon as I pull out of the parking spot it made the noise. So who knows if the bearing was even replaced or if I paid for nothing. I'm out 200 bucks car still makes the noise. Oh and unless I was charged for 2 hours on a bearing, labor was hardly less than a dealer.
I initially started using H and A because they gave me the best quote for a timing belt replacement. I also had several friends that used them and said their work was great. Unfortunately, I found the opposite was true. Yes, their prices were cheap, but they cut corners. A sprocket that should have been replaced when the initial work on the timing belt was done was not replaced. After only 25000 miles, the sprocket failed and I had to have the work redone by another shop. I called Dean and he said that he wouldn't replace anything that he think didn't need replaced. He refused to do anything about the 3400 dollars of damagse done to my car when the timing belt jumped. His customer service was also lacking. Anytime I had work done on my car that required parts to be ordered, I had to call him to see if the parts were in. He would almost never call me. Didn't seem like he really cared about keeping my business. Honestly, go to someone that will take care of you. Don't try to save a buck by cutting corners.
Love H&A. They won't make you replace any unnecessary parts and will save you money. They are honest and the only place my Subaru, Toyota, and Honda goes too.
