I must say, I live in New York right now, but when I come home to Montana, there is one place that I LOVE to go and that's the River! I really believe that God is moving there, and I consider it to be my home church even though I am a temporary New Yorker. The pastor there, Pastor Arends, is honestly one of the best leaders that I have ever worked with. The praise and worship is refreshing and really helps people encounter the presence of God. Their worship leader has played all over the world with people like Kim Walker!
These guys are all about advancing the kingdom. As a kid i went to this church and it shaped my future. Their core values of pursuing the presence of God in a tangible way with miracles signs and wonders is inspiring. These guys have a real passion for purity AND excellence in all they do. It's a great church for anyone wanting the "more" that is promised in the bible. I love the church and would recommend it to anyone.
The first time that I came to the river I was set up by God to encounter the glory. I had lived a life where I knew that God was real, but only in my mind and not in the heart. I came to a conference that they were hosting at the time and it was about the Glory of God. I was blown away the first night there, the presence of God came in Glory and the revelation hit my heart that "God is alive". That might sound weird seeing that I believed in God, but until then I had never encountered him in a real way that went to my heart and not just my intellect . At that moment I knew that God was real and active in the lives of his people. I saw for the first time people healed from various ailments, and faith arose in me for a pain in my own elbow. I was healed that night and from that moment to today I have never been the same, Gods power, love, and truth transformed my life and I found a love worth giving my whole live to. I love our pastors as they listen to Holy Spirit and are willing to let God move in the service as he pleases. It is a place where the heavens are open and the Glory of his presence is tangible with the love of the father. The worship is great as well, as we come and give God praise, the Glory with out fail comes and touches the peoples hearts and transforms their lives. I have seen many people transformed in the time I have been here, and that is what the love of God is all about. I would Highly Recommend this Church to anyone looking for a God encounter that will change your life.
This place is the Best!! -- I wouldn't go to Google while in New York and write about it - if it were not 100% true.
I was prayed for after church one Sunday. I had had debilitating pain in my legs for 18 years. The doctors really didn't know what to do. After prayer the pain became less and less until after awhile almost all of the pain went away. Instead of being in pain 95% of the time I am now only in pain 5% of the time! I am so grateful to The River for encouraging to seek God for healing and to teach that healing is for today. I am so grateful to God for healing me.
If you are looking for any change in your life or you simply just want more of God -- go to the River. I promise you it will be life changing! It was for me.
The first thing that attracted me to The River is the worship. It is so easy to worship God and to concentrate on God during worship at The River. As a mature person, I like the fact that the music is not too loud. Many churches have music so loud that we older people just can't handle or just don't like. Their music seems to be aimed at young people, forgetting that we older ones just don't like the loud music. John, is a young worship leader and has a very tender heart towards God. His desire is to bring us closer to God.
Hey,
I like the sermons too and that Pastor Paul is teaching us that there is so much more to learn about how wonderful and big God is and that His power is available for us today.
It is really hard to put into words what it means to be a part of a FAMILY, that loves the ways of God and is truly pushing forward to know Him. I pray that everybody in the body of Christ will catch the same fever.
God Bless!
