Summary: overcharged. Eventually received a refund but was not happy with how my complaint was handled. Details below.
Initially, I was treated with very friendly customer service, on-site, and then returned my car at this location on August 18, 2017. Several days after my trip I checked my credit card statement to discover an additional $40 charge to my credit card. Spent 20 minutes on the phone with Budget's main customer service line and found:
So you decide for yourself what to think. On the one hand, I'm happy I received my money back. On the other hand, I lost valuable time trying to obtain a refund for a charge that should never had occurred; I was kept wondering and waiting why I couldn't get through to the company or even leave a message; the message I left in person was never returned; and my final contact with Kalispell was flat and cold. Personally, I'd try using another rental service the next time I'm in Kalispell.
3. The customer service rep was very "apologetic" but due to billing practices I would be required to submit a scanned copy of my credit card statement to prove that I had indeed purchased a full tank of gas, IF I wanted my $40 returned.
We recently rented from the Glacier Park Airport facility and loved it. We originally rented a mid size, but at the counter were offered an upgrade for a few extra dollars. It was well worth it. The car was new and did great throughout the National Park. I highly recommend this budget rental for their cars and friendly staff.
We rented a Subaru Outback from Budget while we visited Glacier National Park. My airline had changed the times of my flight, so I called ahead and found there was no problem with getting the car at a different time on the same day. Picking up the car was very convenient with the the Budget's customer service counter in the airport near the baggage claim area and the rental cars within about 10 yards of the airport building's entrance. My wait at the counter was short for I finished the paperwork on the car while my husband was claiming the bags. For an SUV on mountain roads it got good mileage, 30.5 miles per gallon, and had more than adequate power to get up the inclines. It was clean inside and out, and the interior smelled nice. The body had a few little dings, scratches, and chips, that were noted before we rented it, but they did not detract much from its overall appearance.
On August 23rd I was told that I should speak directly with the Kalispell location, so I gave them a call. I was told that someone would call me back about this matter "after they finish dealing with this flight that just came in." (Note: this airport has only three gates). It must have been quite a large flight, because two days passed and received no call back.
1. I was charged for a full tank of gas, despite the fact that paperwork showed I indeed returned the car with a full tank.
The manager Brad is a super nice guy. Went above and beyond to try and help us after our motorcycle broke down in Glacier. Can't say enough about how great our experience was.
I recently rented and prepaid for a Mid-Size SUV and last minute had to upgrade it to a Full-Size SUV upon arrival. The employees were extremely accommodating and helpful and weren't pushy at all like some other rental companies are that try to upsell you. The rates were very reasonable and the Toyota Sequoia that we had for the few days we were there was absolutely perfect for getting us all around!
2. The customer service rep acknowledged that paperwork showed I returned the car with a full tank of gas.
On the morning of the 25th I called this location repeatedly and couldn't reach anyone--after 8 rings a message would play stating, "Answering system off," after which the line would drop. A few hours later I tried again and my call was answered. I remarked that I had called earlier and that it was strange that the answering system was off. The response was a curt, "We've been with customers all morning." I was told during this call that my money had already been refunded and I should see it in my account in the next few days. No attempt at an explanation or apology was offered.
